The former police commissioner of the Boston and New York police departments will speak at Roger Williams University's May 22 commencement ceremony. Besides being a the commisioner of both of the major police departments in the north east, William J. Bratton is the recently retired police chief of the Los Angeles police department, according to University President Roy Nirschel.
As graduation rapidly approaches, there is a lot of anticipation about jobs, new beginnings, and life after college. However, there are also a lot of questions about diplomas. It seems there has been some confusion regarding exactly what it is that a student receives when they graduate.

Following the end to a successful Spring Weekend, students left the fireworks display over the bay and headed back to their rooms to begin their evening of "informal Spring Weekend celebrations." What began as a simple gathering of students drinking outside their room in the Bayside 200s, socializing and listening to music, eventually escaladed into hundreds of students dancing and drinking until approximately 1 a.
Last month, The Affordable Health Care Act was passed by congress, allowing people under age 26 to get health coverage through their parents starting this fall. Insurance companies must cover people under 27-years old through their parent's insurance starting Sept.
On April 24, Roger WIlliams University was rocked by a show that is sure to be remembered for years to come as Four Year Strong headlined WQRI's annual Spring Spectacle. The show also featured the bands The Life I Lead and Dan Mills, who entertained the crowd before Four Year Strong took the stage.
Despite the Roger Williams University Women's Softball team ending their season with a home loss to Western New England College, the squad finished their season with an over .500 record. Concluding the season with a 12-12 TCCC record and a 20-19 overall record, the Hawks had an impressive season.

It was an average Tuesday afternoon. I was at Panera in Seekonk with my roommate, and we were discussing a very dreaded topic that is never brought up in our house- the idea of graduation, truly growing up and having families and even beyond that. After two minutes of the conversation we decided to end it, the thought was to nerve wrecking and it would have been to easy to spoil an amazing 70 degree sunny day.
